History

The first reference to actual geological work being conducted on the Buru (Chebirir) Hills  was in the early 1950s, when a prospector discovered that the hill was radioactive. A grab sample taken from the hill was identified as a carbonatite and when assayed, indicated the presence of REEs

Exploration

Nicholas Mining is in the final stages of exploration for REEs in  Buru Hills. When compared to other deposits worldwide, Buru Hill is a moderate size and grade prospect with potential to be a producing operation

Advantages

Buru Hill is ideally situated with respect to infrastructure in thatlogistics and nearby infrastructure favour its development. Buru (Chebirir) Hills has a favourable CREE content and can be exploited using surface mining methods.
